Mid Ohio Christian Athletic League
“…one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
Ephesians 4:6
Founded in 1998, the Mid Ohio Christian Athletic League (MOCAL) is an athletic league which was established with the purpose of providing interscholastic competition to member schools in central Ohio.
The opportunity to be affiliated with a league whose member schools promote Christian education and value the importance of a biblical foundation at every level is a privilege. The opportunity to promote Christ-like characteristics through the avenue of athletics is one that the league takes very seriously. From the administrative level, to the coaches, parents, fans, and student athletes themselves, the goal of the MOCAL is to use athletics and interscholastic competition to produce individuals with strong positive character.
While each member school has its own separate educational and athletic objectives, it should be noted and emphasized that as a league we have one common association… we are all members of the body of Christ. Promoting athletic competition at any level could be unhealthy if the overall objectives are not clearly stated. Winning and losing does develop character, and a desire to win can be used to promote excellence. However, if misinterpreted or abused, these same scenarios can produce ill effects on the individuals involved as well as the school. The life lessons that are taught through athletics are valuable and effective, but within the MOCAL it is also vital to understand that as we separately strive for athletic success, we are one in the body of Christ.
